I just picked up a 642b. I was wondering if the service manual you can order through the Bobcat website is the same as the actual service guys get, or is it a watered down consumer version. It is in good shape, and I want to go through it to keep it that way! Unfortunately, it does not have auxiliary hydraulics, but with the info from the manual, I wanted to find out if it could be added, as it was an option on this model. Thanks in advance! I'm sure I will have more questions along the way! Ed

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your project!!
One of the members on the forum, OldMachinist, likely has the service manual for your machine in pdf format. Look up his profile and fire him an e-mail. Be sure to mention your forum login name.
As for the auxiliary hydraulics, I went through the same thing with my 440b a couple of years ago. Even though the kit was no longer available, I was able to order all of the parts from Bobcat to add auxiliaries. The dealer was even able to provide the mod instructions specific to the kit. Here is a link to the on-line Bobcat parts catalog:

The auxiliary kit for your machine is in there. Looks pretty simple compared to what I had to do to mine.

Thanks for the info! I will look up OldMachinist later when I have more time and see if he can help me out. I want to add the aux. just to run a grapple bucket and my Dad has a log splitter we currently run off his tractor hydraulics, just wanted to be able to use it on this as well. I tried posting a picture of it with my original post, but like many forums, you must have to havea certain number of posts before allowing to to avoid spam.

I was not aware that there was a spam setting on this forum. Did you try following this link?

Your 642 should be able to accomplish those tasks without much effort. I have operated the same 2 attachments with the 440b.

Well, Look at that, it worked! I am so used to actually copying the link to photobucket from other forums I am on, I never actually tried just copying and pasting the image.

Nice 642B.... I would suggest that you get a parts manual for it. I have found that the exploded views are great for figuring out how to work on different components. Also, the manuals that I have show all of the options and how they fit in the machine. Make sure you get the manual for your serial number. They made a couple of versions of the 642B.
