Hi all, I wonder if there is anybody who could give some advice please. We have an old Bobcat 643 we think about early eightys but not totally sure. We use it around the paddock so not worked to hard. For a bit it has been a little clunky on the front right wheel. Today it didnt feel right and I noticed the same wheel is not driving. I jacked the beast up and that front wheel spins freely. The right rear wheel appears to be driving ok. Could I please get some guidance on what to look at or if anybody knows an honest decent repairman around Brisbane Australia. Thank you very much for your time. Carl.

Sounds like you snapped the chain not a hard repair but stop driveing it before the chain bunches up some place and does more damage count the links for size best to replace all

On my 743 it took two boxs of chain ten feet per box each box would do one side front and back with a few links left over bobcat did not use master links so if it is factory chain you will have to cut them becarefu you can nuck up a fuckle

I emailed Tazza and asked him to look at this thread to see if he can help.
He caught me on email, hopefully i can give him some good advise on getting it up and running again. Hopefully it's just a drive chain and not damaged sprockets.

I would pull inspection cover we broke a hub loose from the sprocket just had to re weld it.

It's the chain, i'm in discussions with him about doing all the chains. Looks like he may be dropping the chain case to re-do all of the chains, hopefully i'll talk him into doing the axle seals while access is good.

For the price of seals it would be foolish not to
