Hi all, broke a u joint and the result ended in broken yokes(1 3/4 keyed) and the engine side of the drive shaft. All my two days of searching and calling to find a used shaft and yoke have resulted to nil. Anyone have one? One shop said they could machine a new yoke for the motor by line boring a 1 1/2" shaft and re cutting the keyway. I am feeling nervous about this a weak link and it will change the u joint to a slightly larger joint. And room is always a issue but I believe there is room. Do the gassers and Perkins share the same shaft just different motor yokes? Sorry for the long list of questions but a drive shaft should not cost a grand which is what NH wants as they won't sell ends separately so I'm told. My back with thank you for the help!

The part number for the yoke is 196951 and is available and is in the 225.00 range. The part number for the shaft is 636714 and is also available in the 500.00 range. The engine yoke is the same between the gas and diesel but the drive shat is not. Before you order parts be sure you look at the parts diagram to make sure the shaft is the one you want. I have seen these shafts put on the skid loaders both ways with the male spline of the shaft on the engine side and some had the males splines on the gearbox side.

If by chance you have the female splined shaft on the engine side then the shaft is available and in the 200.00 range.

This is my case as the longer tube is twords the engine and slides onthe splines from the pump side. More info if you please as to who to call. Messicks had it but over 600 for the three parts needed . My tubes are fine if the yoke on the shaft can be sourced as a weld in. One NH dealer said they could not even supply the shaft so....... Thank you for the help.
