There should also be a red light on or flashing to go along with the beeping. If the light has a tear drop then the engine oil pressure sender is probably bad. If the light has a tear drop in a gear then the hydrostat charge pressure sender is bad. It is usually the charge pressure sender which is bad.

What is the weather like there? If it has been cold could maybe be a fuel restriction too. Do you have a operators book? It has a trouble shooting guide in it but I believe most of the shutdown troubles do not wait a minute and a half, more like 30 seconds. If you have no book at least download that manual , it will help you find anything Mike points you toward.Thank you. There is no red light on. Might it be burned out?
When you first sit in the seat all the lights in the instrument panel should come on. If they all come on then you have something else going on. If your instrument panel is outlined with lines of a silver color then you may need to look at the instrument panel itself. See if the instrument panel will show engine RPM when the engine is running. A broken alternator belt will also shut the engine down. There should be a light on to go with the beeping.Thank you. I had a 665 that would randomly shut down. Took me a while to figure it out. The alternator was corroded internally and on the terminals. The machine would occasionally not get the tach signal, then the machine would shutdown. Thanks mfyock for clarifying my point about the alternator. I have also seen the wire from the tach terminal of the alternator shorting out on the engine block causing a random shut down. Yeah, the dash is key. The warning light will usually point you in the right direction...unless you have a silver dash, then all bets are off. I remember how frustrating is was to trouble shoot these machines when I first started working on them.
