my 2600 when I raise the bucket it isnt smooth going up with a load. have to kind of pump the lever to get it to raise up. Empty the bucket goes up/down ok..maybe a bit slower up than it used to be. The fluid level looks to be ok. is this a Hydro issue. Should I change the fluid or where do you all recommend I start?

I would suspect that a lift cylinder is leaking internally, on the piston. meaning the hyd oil used to lift (extend the cylinder) is going past the seals on the piston into the other side of the cylinder and returning into the tank, never letting the pressure build enough to lift the boom when loaded, but not leaking bad enough that its still letting it raise when empty. It happened to our 2600 once, you can't tell it from the outside it there is no external leak. You should be able to check for this by loading the bucket with something heavy, like something you can't even lift, then take the hose off on the rod end of the cylinder, then see if oil sprays out of the fitting on the cylinder you just took off. If the load cant be lifted (the cylinders are overloaded and cant move) no oil should come out. If oil does come out, that should be the bad cylinder needing seals. The oil coming out is the oil going past the seals that are supposed contain the oil for extending the cylinder. The seal kits are cheap, we did this a couple years ago and got new seals from Baum Hydraulics where about $15 or $20 bucks with shipping. I hope I explained this well enough to understand, good luck. I think this will be a cheap fix for you.

First make sure you don't have the aux hydro stuck on

So we replaced the seals/o rings in both lift cylinders....What a pain in the but. Both c clips broke and took about an hour each to get tapped out and the cylinders disassembled. Reassembly was easy...fluid all looked nice and clean... Once it was back together ran the bucket up and down and checked the fluid...fluid level looked good.... Tried lifting the back of the trailer, still hardly any lifting power... What next? Im going to get new filters and replace them...then get some help and check the relief valve...and hopefully it isnt the pump itself??????? Any suggestions as to why I cant lift over 200#??? have the cylinders ruled out now that I resealed them.

The filters would have been the first thing does it have power driving?

After you change the filter check the hyd pressure at the aux fitting. Usually if it is going over the relief you can tell either by the sound of it or engine laboring. If the cyl seals were put in right it sounds like it may be pump trouble. Is it worse or better when the oil is cold?

Does not seem to matter hot or cold. Today I changed the filters and it helped a Little....still doesnt have the lift capacity it used to. I scooped a level bucket of dirt. it lifted waist high and then struggled to get it to full height.. More research and as always any help from the forum is appreciated.

Does it have case drain filters?

You will want a gauge that goes to 3000 to check at the aux couplers. Cost around 30 bucks.
This Old Small skidsteer doesnt have any auxillary hookups.. But non the less I got it resolved today.... Off the motor pulley is a wide serventine belt... It can been seen. Ti was tight and in good shape. What couldnt be seen behind the protective cover was a smaller v-velt that runs the hydro.... Today I Pulled the seat and metal seat pan so I could have a looksie at everything.. With the cover off I could see the v-belt was loose. I removed it and found it to be in decent shape and the nearest parts place 30 miles away< I decided to re-use the belt. With it reinstalled and tight, I had No problem at all lifting a full scoop of black dirt to the max height... Parked it, had a beer, once it cooled down i reinstalled all the covers.....Very happy!

Great!! Sorry I told you about the cylinders, but I really thought that was it. We have a 2600 and a Bobcat 600, I'll take the 2600 any day over the 600. great little machine.

yeah I am glad the cylinders are done. A coworkers husband works for the county and he gave me a hand with the cylinders. both snap rings broke while trying to remove them, so it added some time and energy. but now that they are done and the belt is tight, It is running and lifting great.
