Hi, I'm a first time skidsteer owner. I just bought a case 40XT skidsteer and found a bobcat 730s excavator locally which I purchased as well. I have got them both home and the excavator fits on to the front of the skidsteer and works with no problems but I need to make up some brackets to tie the top of the excavator frame onto the chassis of the skidsteer to make it rigid. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if so, how they did it. Regards Nick

I have only made mounts for a Bobcat, never a case.
Are there any mounting holes on the side of the frame near close to where you need to mount the backhoe attachment?
They used to use trailer balls and hitchs to hold them in place, it worked pretty well.

Thanks Tazza, I think we have it sorted out. The base of the cab on the Case seems to sit lower than on the Bobcat and there didn't seem to be anywhere that we could really tie the excavator onto on the side of the machine without drilling a lot of holes. That being said, we have made some arms that use trailer hitchs that mount onto balls that we have fixed on to the excavator and it seems to keep the excavator rigid on the front of the skidsteer. I will let you know how it works out after we have got a bit of use out of it.
