Hi All, Congrats to Tazza on the 10K posts. You have helped a ton of people, saved marriages and businesses :) My issue is whine sound coming from hydraulics on my T-190 when I push the right control lever forward(sitting in the cab). It whines the loudest at low RPM, light load and at full RPM when under heavy load. Left is relatively quiet. Any thoughts, suggestions? Thanks

I'm not so sure about saving marriages or businesses :)
I haven't worked on a tracked machine before, i'm sure someone that has will put their 2c in. I'd start by checking case drain filters from both motors.
At low RPM the drive will be louder, but generally the same on both sides.
How is the power, still the same on both sides?
May be a good idea to change the hub oil in the drive motors too.

I am guessing you have foot controls and not joystick control , I'd guess the pintle lever is out of neutral adjustment or the bolt that holds it to the shaft is loose and the noise is partial engagement of the pump

I too have experienced this with my 04 T190. It does not whine when the handles are in the neutral position. But regardless of the RPM setting, once the levers are engaged at any speed forward or reverse, I get a really noticeable whine from the hydraulics. I am assuming its the pump since the handle linkage is directly connected to it. It resonates through to the handles but stops when the handles are in neutral. I am new track machines but I have rented a little T450 before and it did not have this sound at all. I am not sure if its the pump on the way out, if adjustment is necessary, or if the sound is just normal from not having the sound proof padding in the cab like the newer ones have. It is annoying and definitely not what I consider a normal sound. Otherwise, I get great power, full forward and reverse and lifts and tilts all work great.

I'm very much not the expert, but every time I've had a whining problem on my various hydraulic equipment, it's had to do with the filters. When the pump is starved, it whines big time. The more fluid you try to put through it the louder it gets. Just a thought.

I have replaced the hydraulic filter and while I was at it, I replaced the case drain filters too then topped off the fluid. All filters and fluids are Bobcat brand. After talking to the local Bobcat mechanic, he said he wouldn't worry too much about it as long as it tracks straight when driving it and doesn't whine in neutral because of a partial engagement of the pintle lever on top of the pump. I guess I would say it greatly improves the more RPM's you have it set at. At full throttle, its hardly noticeable. My thinking is these older machines just need more RPM's to get enough fluid from the pump to run the drive motors. It doesn't moan or whine at all at low RPM's standing still when running just the lift and tilt. This leads me to believe its not the pump necessarily. The other thing too is the newer machines have quite a bit of sound suppression padding inside the cab which helps with sound from the hydraulic bay beneath the cab too. Mine being an 04, has zero sound suppression. So unless something grenades, changes performance, and sound, I am going to chalk it up to the nature of the machine. Thanks for your reply.

I always thought that if my T-200 didn't whine, there's something wrong with it.
