K, so I changed the gear pump out this week. I noticed a new symptom. The tank bubble guage shows the hydraulic fluid turing white i.e foaming up. Never had this issue before so this is a new problem. Anyone ever incur this issue before? know what causes this? resolutions? Thanks T

I should note the fluid only seems to be foaming up in the tnak itself at the guage bubble. I checked the lines and inside the valve body by removing connections at points and find the fluid is clear. After I let the machine sit for a few mionutes (turned off) the fluid returns back to normal color at the bubble guage.

How much work have you done with it since changing the pump? it will take a little time for it to bleed all the air out.

THank U for respnding. So far I havent done any work since the repairs were completed. I wasnt sure about the foaming issue so I didnt want to take it out to a jobsite and potentially have a problem. Are you suggesting the foaming up of hydraulic fluid is merely air in the system that stiil needs to be purged?

I know what you mean. Hopefully it is just air from the pump replacement. Give it a quick drive around, lift and tilt, get the oil moving. Shut it down ald leave it sit, repeat and see if the oil is foamy or not.
It needs time for the bubbles to settle in the tank though. If you don't leave it long enough, it will just suck in foam again and the air will take longer to settle out.

I'm also facing this type of same problem in gear pump, but after to read this threads i'm happy to get rid of it. I think we should need to change oil after specific interval of times and improve the performance of loader.

It should be done every 1,000 hours or if it gets water contamination. I'm not sure if there is a set time to do it as well, like with cars, 10,000km or 6-12 months. I don't know if it will break down with age or if it only breaks down from heat and moisture.
