My dad had a look at my 773 after I flipped the cab and I think he about had a heart attack. He insists i clean it before fixing anything- a partially valid point however I have deadlines for now. So that said- Its on the list for a rainy day; Probably in the next few weeks. How clean is your equipment? Spotless underneath ? Clean where you can see it ??

I lift the cab and wash it out at least twice a year sometimes more. It depends on how it looks and what I may need to work on in there. I've had the engine/pump assembly out a couple of times in the last 5 years to fix hydraulic leaks and both times I had to clean out lots of gunk. One of the leaks was caused by a steel line that rusted from sitting in wet leaf litter too long.

The 873 is cleaner then it was when I got it. I probably got 40 lbs of dirt out from below the pedals and theres lots of oily dirt around the right side drive motor from an oil leak. By the time I get this one all straightened out, it will be time to sell lol. I should have the S250 in 2 weeks if all goes as planned.

I buy whatever is in my price range at the time with the goal that the latest machine is not as bad/has more potential/less hours/more options then the one its replacing. The owner of the S250 just called to touch base on it. I feel like a kid on christmas getting something with a 2 speed, heated cab and high flow, with 2800 hours. Whats wrong with it? Its RUSTY! Used to load rock salt for a good part of its life, ugh.

I try to keep my machine as clean as I can, inside and out. It makes it easier to find new leaks when they occur, and I hate working on dirty equipment. I typically use a gas powered pressure washer with hot water, and spray on engine degreaser if needed.

Now I understand a lot better! I spent 2 hours pressure washing my 773. It's probably dirtier now Than before. Does bobcat not put holes in the bottom? I had a hell of a time using a sponge to get stuff out the bottom. Anyways the bottom is cleaner..the top seems to be dirty now :(

When I pressure wash under the cab I park the machine on a slight incline and open the back door. That way most of the gunk flows out the back door opening.

OM - i do the exact same thing. This way the rubbish gets pushed out, not just sprayed around.

OK, first off, I need someone to tell me how to start a new topic. I just joined and don't know much about forums. Yesterday I decided to clean my 763 that I bought new about 11 years ago. I'm in the tree business and mostly haul logs out of yards and load them into a dump truck. We also load chips which seem to always fall back onto the operator. Point is, lots of chips dump inside. So I spent 5 hours yesterday cleaning the inside of my 763. I figured out a couple of things while doing this. First, remove two plates on both sides between wheels. this will give access to the drive motors and allow water and debris to escape. Second, there are two drain holes in the belly which will also allow water and stuff to escape. Third, I parked with the back end on the ramps of my trailer. This allows the water to go to the front and flush out all the stuff. I also just used a water hose until I got all of the solid stuff out, then I cranked up the pressure washer to knock off the oil and grease. Total time including pressure wash and some scrub brushing,6.5 hours. I will be doing this at least two times a year for now on and maybe more often. I also have a 2013 s205 which I will be looking at next week. thanks for reading Bob
