Any ideas please!! Machine was working fine then loader started getting jerky. Stopped running and noticed hyd oil foaming and spilling out vent cap. Lots of air I assume?? Changed hyd filter and oil , same problem. Looks like someone changed the gear pump before i bought the machine.

Are there any oil leaks? air can be drawn in to any point that leaks causing the oil to foam up. If the previous owner installed the wrong pump, it could be an issue too....
I had a machine that someone installed the wrong pump, took me weeks to work it out. 1 8mm hole later, it was working like new.

Ok here is the low down. Machine had oil leaks so previous owner changed a couple hoses and hyd pump. Another leak later he gave up and I bought it. Turned out both lift arm hoses had been pinched????? Shield was on when i bought it. Anyway, i replaced both hoses and machine worked fine. Took it to a job a few days later and 45 min in, lift started jerking and oil was foaming. Thinking I had mixed two wrong oils i changed oil and filter. 10 min of run time, same thing. So I cant really see any leaks mostly because of the foaming. But i can get part number off of pump to see if it is the correct one. Any more suggestions??? How did you find the hole? Was it on the suction side??? THANKS

On mine, the problem was the pump didn't have a hole in it like the OEM one did, i had to drill the hole to fix it. It bolted up the same, but the internals were different.
As yours has the right number, it should be fine.
I don't see different oils foaming, it's generally caused by a restriction in a suction line from the oil tank to the inlet of the pump. If there is a restriction, it will cause the pump to cavetate causing bubbles. I know you replaced the main filter, but i don't know if there might be another one on the suction live of the pump somewhere.....

The other place you want to look is the case drain lines coming from the hydrostat motors and hydrostat pumps. You may not see oil leaking from them but they can allow air to enter the system. These lines are usually blue in color and use hose clamps to secure them to the fittings. If you can check the case drain line from the front motor to the rear motor. It lays against the floor pan and can wear through. You also want to check the clamps on the outlet hoses at the bottom of the tank so the hoses are secure.

Error 02 indicates the harness to the fuel solenoid is either shorted or grounded. It can also occur when switching the service/run switch from service to run while running

That is so helpful!!!! I will work on that and probably bug you again. LOL. Thanks so much. Oh, if I find the grounded wire and fix it will the computer reset or is there a certain way to clear the code?

If you correct the problem the error should go away the next time you cycle the ingition switch.

OK. Changed the main suction line from tank to inlet of hyd pump. Also changed return line. No visible signs of holes in lines but some wear and what seemed to be some surface cracking. No visible hole to tell if either line was leaking or sucking in air?? Also double clamped all ends of hoses. Hoses that I removed had no debris in them. Unless it was sucked into pump???? But only way to tell would be to remove the pump and check???? Right????? Ran out of time but will fill with fluid tomorrow and give it a try. If it continues to foam what would you suggest??

Oh yea. About the error code 2. If the wire to the fuel solenoid had a short or was grounded would the machine be able to run????? The engine does run quite well.

The problem could be in the instrument panel itself. The type of panel you have on your machine is subject to corrosion and the corrosion can cause all kinds issues. It also could be because of switching the service/run switch when the engine is running.

Mike, Speaking of instrument clusters, where are you sending your for reman? USed to send them to AG EXPRESS, then they said their machine for testing was broken and they werent going to service them. Then I sent 2 to FarmTronics in Canada. Shipping is expensive, and although they said they fixed it, it still didnt work. There is also a place called RBB reman, or something like that, never tried them though....

I send them to ag-express at their Iowa location. I think this is their only location they do the work. I just sent one in the end of last week and received it back yesterday. They will not rebuild the silver trimmed boards like the one this poster has.

Well got everything back together and moved dirt for about 15 min and no foaming. Yet. Lol. Temperature outside was cooler than previous running days but so far so good. Now that you mention it the instrument panel is doing weird things. I have not had machine long enough to be familiar with it but there seems to be no hour meter on display and it reads 12.8 on it constantly. When I turn key to start engine it displays a 20 sec count down???? One of the yellow caution lights blinks all the time but I'm not sure which one it is. Still waiting for operators manual. It does kinda look like hyd oil icon but not sure. I can make it quit blinking if when engine is running and i turn on service switch then kill engine then restart it will stay off till I cycle engine again or release seat belt?????? Anyway, I will post again in a few days. Thanks for the help.

If it is like the 665 display there is a little arrow symbol up and to the left on it when you press this arrow it cycles from rpm, engine temp, hyd temp, volts and hours . not neccessarily in that order . I think mine usually reads 14 volts or a little over.

Ran machine for 30 min and hyd oil started to foam up again. The only thing I can think of that I have not done is check for loose fittings on pumps. Is there anything else you can think of that might cause the problem??????????? Thanks

From the service manual.
Hydraulic reservoir oil foaming/milky
Air or water in system
Check for air leak on suction side of pump and check reservoir fill neck for leaks allowing water to enter system Check for air leak in hydrostatic pump case drain line from hydrostatic pumps to suction side of gear pump.

You could also have seals leaking on the input shafts of the hydro pumps or output shaft of the motors. Your NH dealer should have a special tool that can pressutize the system to help pinpoint the problem. Is the engine gearbox filling with oil?
