341 Engine Code

I have a 2003 Bobact 341 that has code 06-18 stored. It runs like a million bucks, when it runs. Periodically, it will be very hard to start, requiring several cranking sessions to fire off. Something is causing the fuel stop soleniod not to power up. Have already replaced the solenoid with a new one from the dealer.
There is also an intermittent alarm on the display.
Could the hard start be related to the code? Also, what do I look for first? I didn't know this thing had a tach.

06-18 Engine speed out of range high That's what my 331 code book says.... Funny, I was googling what that meant and I got a link to OP and Main Manual for 331/334 It is european but hey, it is free. Interestingly, on page 25 it discusses flashing icons...might be pertinent to you....yeah,I think the intermittent alarm may be related to code. Engine speed out of range is what the book on the machine says too. I inspected the sensor and found it had been pinched by the battery, which was not properly secured. I replaced the sensor, no change. Anyone have any other thoughts?
