Just bought a Thomas 175 High Lift. Machine seemed working good, except, when I turned it off and then turned it on after a few minutes, the left pedal was not moving, so the boom was not going up or down. All the other hydraulics were working fine, including the right pedal to control curl of the bucket, and the aux botton on the left handle to control the grapple on the bucket. Am I doing something wrong? I am fairly new to skid steers but have rented Bobcats before. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a safety feature. Does it have a seat belt or seat switch? even a seat bar switch?
If any of them think you are not in the seat, it will lock the lift functions out to prevent possible harm. It could even be a bad solenoid preventing the system to un-lock. Does the dash have any lights to indicate something is wrong? like a seat bar light on or not on?
Never worked on a Thomas, so i'm just guessing what the indications would be.

Sure enough. It was a bad contact at the seat bar switch. Skid Steer is fully operational now. Thanks!
