Thomas Skid Steer

I am looking at a Thomas Skid Steer 1980 620 hrs. to buy but I don't know anything about these machines. It's a 4 cyl. gas engine. Price is $3,700.00. You can go on Kijiji.ca, ID 386119421 to view a picture. What would I look for to see if there is anything that has to be fixed?

I'd be really suspicious of the hours unless it was the original owner. I think that model has the wisconsin engine and some parts for the rest of it may be hard to find. Is there any qualified skidsteer mechanic who will check it out for you for a fee? They were a good loader ,very basic to work on.

That bucket would be ok for snow, but would be pretty heavy for any kind of dirt. Is it near you where you can go try it out?
Hours don't mean much when they get that age, as the meter could have been switched.
All you can do is try it out and see what you think. Or get a mechainc to look it over for you.

It's about 150 miles from me and I don't know any mechanics there but I will have to try and find somebody and thanks. Owen
