hey Tazza! I wasnt so much looking for another brand but just maybe another motor that may work. I dont plan to use this machine a whole lot and would like to get it going for as little as possible. I have come across a V2403 Turbo Kubota not to far away. It was a pull out by bobcat over a warranty replacement that had something to do with the fuel injector so they replaced the entire thing and this guy got it and put a new injector on it. The guy wants 2000.00 USD for it .
So I guess I'm asking if this motor will work in it instead of dropping 3000 on a reman Kubota V2203? Also is that V2403 worth 2000.00?
I'm also wondering if maybe I should pull the V2203 out of my Bobcat 763 and put it in the 331 and then put the V2403 in the 763? Just kicking some things around. Let me know what you think when you get a chance. Also no rush on it but I sent you that email about those parts on the pump and drives on my 743. Let me know if you didnt get the email I sent and ill resend it.

I think the 2k for the engine sounds good, the turbo alone would have to run 500+ that engine new would have to be around the 5k mark. Swapping an entire engine when it's just an injector sound sus to me.... not sure i'd trust that is the full story.

I'll resend the email in just a few so let me know if you don't get it. I have always been suspect of buying those motors on ebay. I'm actually tempted to just drop the 3000 on a new V2203 and be done with it. I was considering that motor bc of the increase in HP and the better price and it seems to be a good deal. I'm not real familar to diagnose a diesel motor but the guy selling it said he can crank it up for me before I buy it. I was going to go pick it up myself as its not too far away.
Are there any things specifically I should look for and will it work in my late 90's 331?

The only reason that i can see why it wouldn't work for you is the extra space taken up by the turbo and piping. If it has room, it should be just fine. I'd feel it would be wasted in the 331, i'd rather see it in the skid steer
