I have a 2005 RC50 with about 2200hrs. Recently i've notice on the dash panel with all the warning lights my engine temp light has been coming on very dim. It comes and goes, however ran the maching hard and the light came on bright. Coolant level is normal and the engine fan is running normally. What could this issue be? My dealer said this was normal for this vintage, but how do you know whether you really have an engine temp issue if i can't trust the light. Comments? Thx...

Go buy a non contact thermometer or install an actual temperature gauge, not a light. This way you know just how hot it is.
This is what i did with my compressor, it just had a light that would come on. I installed a propper gauge that shows its temperature is in the normal range. Best to be sure than have a cooked engine.
