I bought a 1997 Bobcat 331. It had a blown motor. Is there a better motor for it or should I stick with the V2203 Kubota that came in it? Will the V2203 DI unit work in the older 331's or should I just stay with the V2203? I read that there are Cali reefer units out there in good shape that had to be replaced due to emmission standards. Anyone know where I can get my hands on the Kubota 2203's that came out of the reefer units? I can use it in my state without issue.

The difference between the two is one is indirect injection, the other is direct injection (DI)
The DI one has a few more hp, the rest is the same.
The V2203 or DI are an excellent motor, its just lack of care that kills them generally. If they get hot the heads crack.
A reefer engine is a good plan, just swap the sumps over and i think some have something that links to the throttle, that goes and you link it up like the old engine. Most supply details for all this with the engines anyway.
