My 601 will start then it dies after about 15 seconds and the yellow warning exclaimation point is lit on control panel along with an icon indicating "low HST pump pressure". I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the water separator filter then bled the air from system using the lever on the fuel supply pump. Also changed engine ooil and filter. Also changed chain drive case oil both sides. Air filter not changed but looks ok. Initially after fuel filter change it would not start at all but now at least starts though it does not run well. Any ideas? Would low hydraulic oil pressure cause a shutoff. Thanks

On our 801 I found a piece of large trash lodged in the inlet to the fuel bowl. I had to remove the shut off valve to get it out. Also, on mine there is a plate at the bottom of the fuel tank. I removed this and flushed my tank and vacuumed it out. It had lots of trash and what appeared to be rust. It would not "shut down" or have a warning light, but it is something simple to check.

My Yellow warning w/exclamation point also comes on ??? I topped off my Hyd oil... ( about a half gal low ) It runs fine , Starts... Shuts off... I need to find out more about this.... Is it for the Hyd oil ??? Is it a pressure sender that isn't working ? . . I'm gonna go run it a while... Gotta Fly... Mike & "Jaz" the Flying Dogz . 1998 DSL 601 . 1990 580K . .

The light was still on... I lifted the cab , and added hyd oil in both sides... I don't know anything about the "Level" for full... I just split the last of my hydrostatic oil... I did find a 6" bolt laying out of it's hole... It was a tranny to engine bolt... I checked the other one next to it... It needed tightening too... . By the way... The Stupid yellow light is STILL on... . ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? But it runs and sounds fine... . Gotta Fly...

I'm sorry I can't help you with that problem but I just purchased a DSL 601 also a 1998. I was wondering if you knew if the bobcat excavator attachment and all other bobcat excavator attachments will fit the 1998 DSL 601. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you, Adam.

Strangely, my 601 did the same thing and I thought for sure that it was a hydraulic issue. I thought the pump was deadheading because prior to change any filters or anything it ran fine however what it ended up being was the pick up tube going to the fuel tank was completely blocked from sitting, I did not know that things would rust inside diesel fuel but apparently mine had rust on it and the inside was completely blocked. I tried putting a Weedwhacker string up there and it stopped so then I took a cable and a cable didn't have enough rigidity so then I used a piece of steel wire And jammed up in there and broke it free and then I turned it upside down and had it soak in sea foam for about a half an hour and I ran that cable up and down up and down up and down until it was cleared out and on the outside of the pick up tube I used a whiz wheel And then it ran just fine after that
