takeuchi track adjuster

I had atrack come off so I took out the plug and pushed the idler back and put the track back on. Now I can not get the fitting to take grease to tighten the track. I have the idler where it is easy to push forward but no grease will go in to move adjuster forward. If I take the plug out the fitting takes grease fine. The adjuster is loose and moves around freeely on that side. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Does the adjuster neede to be tightened? Thanks Steve
