Anyone know how to put a block heater on an 863? It has the Deutz oil-cooled engine, so I assume the standard block heater that installs through a freeze plug is not an option. I assume that the oil drains out of the radiator and into the pan when the engine is not running, since I get about 2-1/2 gallons out of it during an oil change. A magnetic pan heater wouldn't put the heat in the head where it's needed, but might be better than nothing. Not sure I really need one, but we occasionally hit -15F here in the southern Colorado foothills and I would like to be able to heat the block. Have block heaters on my T180 and 751 and love them. Few hours plugged in and they spin right up. :) ---Bobbie G.

standard bobcat heaters only go into the oil pan in the plug kinda below and behind the starter. only a pan heater. no head heater is available. mag heaters do the trick around our shop.

I'll check with Bobcat on the pan heater you described. I see the large 2" diamater plug you referred to. --- I'm not familiar with magnetic heaters, only read about them on this forum. I assume they just stick on the pan and heat the oil? Which brand do you use and where did you get it? :) ---Bobbie G

Wow! Bobcat wants $118 for their gen-u-ine in-the-oil-pan heater. Must be some kinda heater! Let's think about that magnetic pan heater. :) ---Bobbie G.

I think we use zero start but I am 100% sure of the brand we use. Biggest issue is getting one the will fully mount flat on the engine. The bigger the amp the bigger the mating surface.
