My skid had worked fine but last week I started it and went to disengage the parking brake and it wont do it. I have tried the normal routes like fuses and such with no prevail. I found a solenoid that looks like it may be the one that releases and engages it but I am not sure. Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone have any suggestions? I am not a mechanic but I am not afraid to work on stuff either since I am a farm owner. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

The traction lock (parking brake)is pretty much the same on all machines so if you need more info download the electrical section of the S175 service manual here and go to pages 60-110-1 thru 60-110-8

Did you swap the relays around in the fuse box right below the seat? The brake stuck on my S185 so I replaced the brake relay with the preheat relay and away I went. If you want to get serious, lift the cab and right below the seat on top of the chaincase sits the solenoid that controls the brake. It can be unbolted and just lifted out and replaced if necessary.
