Hello I am new to the site and am in need of help. I recently purchased a 2001 Daewoo 1760XL skid. Clean machine only 675 hours. However since I brought it home i have been unable to start it. It cranks all day but no sputter or anything. The fuel filter was changed in August. At first the primer pump would pump up and get harder but still no sputter. then more recently in trying to start the primer pump never gets hard. I can pump it all day never gets hard anymore and since it has stopped getting hard to pump i have noticed a leak (looks and smells like deisel fuel) as well. Also noticed that it stopped puffing smoke while cranking like it wasnt getting fuel. I called the dealer and he recommended me installing a check valve between tank and primer pump/ fuel filter head. So i did today. Still no start. It seems the fuel lines are full between the tank and the primer pump/ filter head now but no fuel getting thru filter head unit. So I bypassed the filter head unit and plugged fuel line right into the engine. Still no start but started puffing smoke again. I thought maybe if i bypassed the primer pump/ filter head thing and put the fuel line from the tank right to the engine and it started then I would know the filter head/ pump was bad. But still no start with fuel line directly to engine. I apologize about the long description here. Any direction would be helpful! And by the way the guy I bought it from started it everytime I came to look at it with no problem. Wish I new what his trick was. Of course he wont answer the phone now that the sale is done!
