Hook a pressure gauge up to the spot the sensor is screwed into. I would suspect its just a bad sender, they do go bad. The computer does detect open and short circuits, whats why you can't just jump it.
The charge pressure suould be about 90-120 PSI so get a gauge that will read at least 150PSI

hey mate i hooked up a gauge no probs.. bought a new sensor but now im getting hp-3 hc-3 and think its hcf-1, all the wiring looks ok back to the black box under the cab. Is there somthing i can check before going back to the dealer? also with the lcd display when it shows the faults it shows 6o55 the zero is half size i think it means boss is this correct? or is this the hours..

It does mean BOSS
I'm not sure what the issue could be. Have you harassed your dealer to see if they have any ideas?

I thought the hours would flash up first then the errors?
Its always possible its a computer issue, but as you did state when you shorted the sender out it showed as a short on the display. As its detecting this, its hard to believe its the computer....
