Can we add a new catagory to have one area that contains the links for manuals and reference material downloads. I have been in the process of uploading all the service manual pdf files I have but the links are spread out thru many different posts. And I have all the component repair manuals that I'll be scanning this winter and would like to post the links in a easy place for others to find.

I think its a great idea, my only concern is, can anyone get in trouble for linking to material like that? even if its not hosted locally?
If there are no legal issues, i think its a really good suggestion! it will save a LOT of time.
Thanks OldMachinist for spending so much time and effort in hosting the files for everyone, i know i have used a fair bit of your refrence material already! Its saved me having to scan in pages for memeber questions :)

Would like to see an addition to construction for "projects" or "seat time" what you did with your skidsteer today.
There does not seem too be many posts there and perhap " constuction" is too specific or we should have a skidsteers at play category.

Yep, copyright is an issue. If you're pdf manuals are redistributable and not copyrighted, then I'd be willing to have a section for downloads.
Lets get some feedback regarding an extra addition to the construction area... Sounds good to me though..

Well the way the copyright laws are written all original works of authorship are copyrighted but in order to bring any legal action they must be registered with the copyright office in the country of origin. I did a search of the US Copyright Office records and Bobcat/Melroe never registered any work.
If you want to read all about copyrights click here. http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.pdf I know I can post that link because nothing written by th US government can be copyrighted.
I think that a decision should be made here and now on this issue before myself or any other members post anymore scanned images or links to downloads.
