Starting this thread to post updates as work keeps going...
Started out yesterday with the skid... put new stickers on order and worked on removing the outer stickers around the skid. Does anyone have the paint codes for Bobcat Orange and White? We plan on removing the rear door and repainting sometime in the near future as its VERY faded...

I found a very close low-cost alternative to BC orange if you want to use a spray can. http://www.skidsteerforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=54&frmView=ShowPost&PostID=23864
Thanks... wrote that paint code down... so I figured I would start this out with its first before and after...
I dont really plan on making this into a machine so pretty that I wont want to use it...LOL but I just want it to look "newish"...
Heres a shot from the first day taken by my girlfriend... its just a link since its a large image...

having just repainted the charcoal and orange parts on my 753 which you can see here: http://www.skidsteerforum.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=54&frmView=ShowPost&PostID=27441
I found that the Factory Bobcat premixed quarts of orange and charcoal worked very well.. sprayed easily with an HVLP gun. would probably do just as well with the standard spray gun... it also dries to the touch in 15 mins... it ranges from $18 to about $25 per quart...
I was able to paint the rear door and wheels with multiple passes ... about 4 or 5 coats with a single quart of paint... also got the bucket, stabilizers and ROPS done with a single quart, however the ROPS could use a couple more coats to get that new gloss look but for what I needed it worked fine...
You get much thicker coats and better coverage using a spray gun and air compressor than you do with a throw away can of spray paint..... for the cost I recommend using the OEM paint... is the $5 or $10 you save trying to get a non original paint match really worth the time and effort and savings over the factory stuff???

Sold my Honda 1100 Aero in June after having it sit for about the last 4 years. Since I moved to acreage, it turned into a real expensive boat anchor....starting to feel old.

I follow the two year rule if it hasn't been used in two years it's gone unless of course it falls in the tool catagory.

Oh Oh, there goes the 71 Mach 1
Ken
I used to do that... thats why I no longer own any quads... LOL... I actually wish I had kept a couple of my older motorcycles though... I had bought a 1985 Goldwing out of a garage... hadnt been used in 10 years... and had 3000 miles on it... I restored it and sent it packing in mint shape... also wish I had kept my XR650L... now that I live in the country....
So heres the last picture for the weekend... I promise ;) I may do some more painting on the wheel wells but here is most done except the cab areas...

I'm sure the bobcat" is a custom touch, but the 463 decals are also the wrong ones. Should have yellow "stripe" under the numbers. Looking good otherwise. Never hurts to have pride in your equipment. Also helps at trade-in time. Looks like you are enjoying your bobkitty. Around here, the most popular thing is to add a radio. The younger help won't hardly run a machine w/o one. Personally, I almost never turn them on. If the bucket pivot pins are still tight, GREASE,GREASE, GREASE--about 2 or three times as often as the rest of the machine as the pivot pins wear quickly if ignored. Bobcat dealers have a reamer to fix the arms if the pins get to revolving, but in my experience the wear will be in the quick-tach. Grease entire machine at every fuel-up, and the bucket pivot pins in between as well.

Thanks Dave... I actually noticed the issue with the sticker numbers this morning... oh well.. at least it looks better than it did...LOL I will be adding some northeastfoto logos once I get them from my moms sometime over the weekend and let that all cure before getting it back out to work... we still DO have 10T of stone to push out (we moved 22T of dirt in two days and 12T of stone in one so far with this machine)... I thought about using an iPod while working but opted for earplugs instead... I tend to not pay attention as much when I have music so best left for till I have WAY more experience before I add the realm of music in there...LOL
