was just givin an old skid steer, been sitting for about five years. it has abucket, a plow blade and a hoe with rear stablelizer. its been painted and I dont know what brand it is. I need to pick it up from a farm house in the middle of no where. it is sitting with the arms raised all the way up and a piece of steel blocking the cylinder on one side.there is no bucket or "tool" on it. it currently doesnt run. how can i lower the arms and get it to "free wheel" in orxer to load it. I have a tandem bob cat trailer with a 9000 lb winch and wheeled hook to split the wieght of the load. alsowhat tools might I need to free wheel it. leaving saturday morning for a 3 hour ride one way. to pick it up. thanks in advance. wrong way willie

well if it is a old clutch machine it should roll, and you need another piece of equipment to hold the bucket arms up loosen the arm hose fittings to let them leak down while letting the bucket arms down with other machine. it is hard to guess what you might have, you will need to figure that out . If it is a pump powered machine it might be best to remove the side covers and take the chains off. good luck. there is always a price for FREE. been there!
